Two decades down the road, we have worked tirelessly and steadily to see to it that we are where we are today. This has been possible because of the committed team of management and staff. In November 2009, we celebrated 20 years of existence and excellence. I also owe the success of JSIC to stakeholders who have supported and closely watched with concerns how the Institute grows and expands, particularly after the departure of the founding Director, the Late Jimmy Sekasi Hanington who was murdered by LRA in 2001 together with 9 students while on a tour in Marchision Falls National Park.

At JISC we uphold our values, mission, and vision and slowly but surely over the years of existence, the institute has emerged to be the best Hotel and Catering training institute in Uganda. Through our shared values of Academic Excellence, Integrity, Professionalism, Competence, among others JSIC has become a 'Home Name'.

We are proud of our products (the grandaunts), for they have not only appreciated but have also been rewarded for their decisions to train with us. Employers in Hotels and Food & Beverage service and other sectors of the hospitality industry commend our students for their knowledge, skills, attitude and professionalism they display.

The hospitality industry is growing and is one of the major income earners not only in Uganda but throughout the world. Numerous employment opportunities are available and new ones are being created each day. Opportunities to start up self employed businesses will continue to exist in the industry. Besides, the industry is requiring people who have trained and possess necessary knowledge and skills to serve guests. I humbly appeal to parents, students and potential students of the opportunities existing. JSIC will prepare you to exploit the opportunities and make a difference in future.
